Ingredients for Grape Fruit Star Anise Granita Recipes
- Water: 1/3 cup
- Sugar: ½ cup
- Whole star anise: 2
- Fresh red or pink grape fruit juice: 2 ½ cups
Method of preparation for Grape Fruit Star Anise Granita Recipes:
In a medium saucepan over medium high heat, bring water, sugar and star anise to boil until sugar is dissolved. Discard star anise and cool syrup. Stir syrup into grape fruit juice.
Pour mixture into a baking dish. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and freeze approximately 45 minutes until icy at edges and overall mixture is slushy. Whisk to distribute frozen portions evenly. Cover and return to freezer. Freeze it for 3 hours. Using a fork, scrape granita down length of pan, forming icy flakes. Freeze it again for an hour.
To serve, scoop flaked granita into tall goblets or parfait glasses. Serve immediately with iced teaspoons.
