Ingredients for Chole Recipes
- Chickpeas: 1 can
- Large Tomato: 1 (sliced)
- Medium tomato: 1 (chopped)
- Tomato paste: 2 tbsp
- Large onions: 2
- Green chilies: 4-5
- Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
- Chopped coriander: 1 ½ tbsp
- Ginger: 1 (large piece)
- Garlic: 3-4 (large flakes)
- Ghee or oil: 2-3 tbsp
- Bay leaves: 2
- Cinnamon sticks: 1-2
- Cloves: 2-3
- Red chilly powder: 1 ½ tbsp
- Turmeric powder: ½ tsp
Method of preparation for Chole Recipes:
Blend together large tomato, onion, cumin seeds, ginger, garlic, green chilies, cinnamon and cloves to a smooth paste using very little water. Heat one pan with ghee and fry bay leaves. Also add chopped onions and fry them till they turn light brown. Now add the tomato paste and fry for some more time. Then add turmeric, coriander powder, sugar and chili powder and fry for 1-2 minutes. Now add the chopped tomato and coriander leaves and fry for 5 minutes.
Now add chickpeas, water, salt to taste and tomato paste. Add some water to get gravy. Add garam masala powder and chole masala and mix well. Allow it to come to boil and simmer the stove. Allow it to cook for 5 minutes and remove from heat.
Serve hot with bathura.
