Ingredients for Dum Aloo
Potatoes â€“ 250 grams
Tomatoes â€“ 100 gram
Spice mixture (Roasted and Powdered cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, cumin, coriander & nutmeg) – Â½ tsp
Coriander powder â€“ 1 Â½ tsp
Cumin seeds – Â¼ tsp
Asafoetida â€“ a pinch
Red chilly powder – Â½ tsp
Turmeric powder – Â½ tsp
Oil â€“ 2 tsp
Salt â€“ 1 tsp
Coriander leaves â€“ 1 tsp
Preparation Method for Dum Aloo
Peel the potatoes and cut them into a small cubes.
Prepare tomato paste and keep it aside.
After heating oil in the pressure cooker, add asafoetida and cumin seeds together.
Next add tomato paste and cook for a few minutes.
Now add potatoes and cook for another 2 minutes.
Add coriander powder, salt, red chilly, turmeric powder and spice mixture and combine.
Now add 2 glass of water.
Cover it with lid.
After one whistle let it simmer for 5 to 7 minutes.
Place the curry in a serving bowl and garnish with coriander leaves.
It is ready to be served.
