Indian Recipe : Cabbage soup
Ingredients for Cabbage Soup Cabbage â€“ 225 grams
White pumpkin â€“ 225 grams
Onions â€“ 2
Potatoes â€“ 2
The following are the ingredients for cabbage soup
For the stock
For the topping
Onion( finely chopped) â€“ 1
Carrot (finely chopped )â€“ 1
Cabbage (finely chopped) – Â½ teacup
Butter â€“ 1 tsp
For the white sauce
Butter â€“ 1 Â½ tsp
Plain flour â€“ 1 Â½ tsp
Milk â€“ 1 Â½ teacups
Pepper and salt to taste
Preparation Method for the Cabbage SoupFirst cut the vegetables in big pieces .
Add the vegetables in 7 teacups of water and cook them in a pressure cooker.
After cooking, drain the excess water through a sieve and use it as stock.
The following is the preparation method for the cabbage soup
For the stock are:
For white sauce
First heat the butter in a vessel.
After heating add the flour and cook for 2 minutes and keep stirring it throughout to prevent the mix from getting burnt.
Switch off the gas and add the milk gradually.
Mix until well blended.
Turn the gas on again and cook slowly until the sauce thickens.
Add pepper and salt and mix it well.
How to proceed
Heat the butter in a pan and cook the vegetables for 3 to 4 minutes
Add stock and cook for 20 minutes.
Add the salt, pepper and white sauce.
It is ready to be served.
